Illustrious Sir A.J. Dow

Potentate - 1920

A reception was held at the Rice Hotel on February 20 for Imperial Potentate W. Freeland Kendrick on this official visit to Arabia Temple. This occasion was highlighted by the presence of Noble John J. Pershing, General of the Armies, who was made an honorary member of Arabia Temple. Potentate A. J. Dow presented him with his certificate of membership.

The Imperial Council meeting at Tacoma, Washington adopted the recommendations of Past Imperial Potentate W. F. Kendrick to build hospitals for crippled, orphaned children. Arabia Temple’s Crippled Childrens Clinic had already been operating for almost a year.

The Patrol gave their first Potentate’s Ball in December, 1920, and it has been an annual affair since that time.

Potentate Dow had the honor of passing the 2000 mark in membership, the year having closed with 2,102 members.
