D. W. Michaux *
Illustrious Sir D. W. Michaux
Potentate - 1918
The first (Jan.) meeting of 1918 was held in new quarters in the Levy Building at Main and Capitol. Noble Michaux, who had a leading part in securing the charter for Arabia, was Potentate — a well-deserved compliment in recognition of valuable services.
World War I was at its height and Arabia Temple cooperated with every branch of the government: contributions were made to the Red Cross and other war-work activities; over $20,000 was invested in Liberty Bonds and War Savings Stamps; and the Temple service flag contained 356 stars.
For the first time, the annual Mosque Ball raised $6,000 strictly for charitable purposes. This led to the present annual benefit activities for the crippled and burned children. All previous records were broken in membership gains and the year closed with 1218 Nobles enrolled.
