Illustrious Sir Judge L.J. Cox

Potentate - 1917

Illustrious Judge L. J. Cox was Potentate in 1917 when the nation was engaged in World War I. Arabia sent a resolution to President Woodrow W. Wilson: “Tendering the services of Arabia Temple’s Units and all members of the Temple for such duties as they may be called upon to perform.” The President responded: “…thanks for the good will which prompted your kind message.”

The Temple held its meetings in the Bristol Hotel. The two annual functions, the Grand Mosque Ball and the orphans picnic, were held and both were successful. D. W. Michaux was elected Potentate at the annual meeting and the year closed with a total membership of 754.
