Illustrious Sir Pat L. Davis
Potentate – 1929
Established in a Mosque that would be home for Arabia Temple for the next 40 years, Potentate Pat L. Davis was convinced that the membership enjoyed entertainment. He recommended an annual budget for the entertainment of the members and their families. The plan was established and soon proved its justification. More trips were made to outlying areas; the Mother’s Day service was repeated; and the Crippled Childrens’ Ball again reached a new high with net proceeds exceeding $17,000.
With Arabia Temple’s Frank C. Jones occupying the highest office in Shrinedom, the uniformed bodies were taken to Los Angeles. And Arabia’s units led the Imperial Parade.
Another innovation provided by Potentate Davis was a New Year’s Day Football Game between Houston All Stars and Englewood High School from Chicago, Illinois.
The year found the Temple finances in good shape and the membership had been increased by exactly 100 members.
