Potentate - 1994

1994 began as an unusual year as I found myself running for and being elected to the office of Potentate of Arabia Temple for the second time.

The Inaugural Ball was great, but not as expensive as the first one in 1991. Since we had been there before, we kept expenses down.

The Divan Mid-Winter was held in Amarillo, Texas, and was enjoyed by all the Divan members.

The Potentate and Divan members paid tribute to Bay City, Texas on their 100-year Centennial on April 23rd.

We introduced the Living Bank to the Houston Shriners so if they desired to donate organs/tissues.

The Potentate and Lady JoAn, along with other couples from Arabia Temple, enjoyed a Panama Canal trip which included Aruba, Cartagena, San Blas Island and Curacao.

Since the parking lot was beginning to deteriorate, proceeds from the Casino Party, $13,000.00, along with another $6,000.00 approved by the membership, were used to repair the parking lot.
