Potentate - 1945
During Noble T. K. Flack’s term as Potentate in 1945, Noble Harry S. Truman became the Commander in Chief of the U. S. Armed Forces. As victory neared in World War II, the fortunes of all Shrinedom improved tremendously and Arabia Temple was no exception.
With a new spirit prevailing among all the Nobility, the Units and the various Committees, the Crippled Children’s Ball in February was the most successful one ever held. A total of 1,112 novices crossed the hot sands for the largest increase in Temple history, and the Circus was most profitable.
With 40 Charter members, a new Shrine Club was organized in Conroe on October 24, 1945. There was an increase in attendance at all of the stated meetings, and 900 Nobles and ladies turned out for a bingo party in December.
The Wrecking Crew again was involved in making toys for the Goodfellows and the Salvation Army to distribute to the city’s underprivileged children.
Potentate and Mrs. T. K. Flack entertained Imperial Potentate and Mrs. Alfred G. Arvold during their official visit in February.
The Imperial sessions were held at Islam Temple in San Francisco in July.
