Illustrious Sir William G. Vollus
Potentate - 1935
One of Arabia Temple’s most dedicated members, Noble William G. Vollus, became Potentate in 1935. The storm of reverses had been weathered and renewed enthusiasm began taking a firm hold on Temple activities. Two years ago, Potentate Vollus, then Assistant Rabban, had negotiated a fund-raising plan to send the Uniformed Units to the Imperial meetings. Sufficient funds were now on hand to send them to the Imperial meetings at Washington, D. C.
A charter was secured for Arabia Temple Activities Association to produce a circus. The circus was held in 1935 in Democratic Hall and netted approximately $5,000. This was the first effort to have a circus since 1922.
