Arabia Shriners Embrace a New Chapter with Generosity and Fellowship
Some stated meetings are remembered for the business conducted. Others are remembered for the spirit in the room. Last night’s Arabia Shriners stated meeting will be remembered for both.
It was an evening filled with fellowship, gratitude, and real purpose. The meal was warm, the company was strong, and the generosity on display reminded everyone why this fraternity matters. By the end of the night, Arabia had celebrated meaningful support for Shriners Children’s Texas and taken a major step toward shaping its future home.

A meal that reflected true hospitality
The evening began with a wonderful meal provided by Amani Court No. 72 of the Ladies’ Oriental Shrine, led by Princess Mary Alice Owen. Their hospitality helped set the tone for the entire meeting.
A shared meal may seem like a simple thing, but in the life of a Shrine center, it does something important. It gives members and guests a chance to slow down, reconnect, and remember that fellowship is built through regular acts of care.
The effort, service, and warmth offered by the ladies of Amani Court No. 72 did not go unnoticed. Their support added grace to the evening and helped make the gathering feel more like family than business.
Arabia also had the pleasure of welcoming Justin Duty, Deputy Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Texas. His presence added to the importance of the night and reflected the strong ties that continue to connect Masonic and Shrine communities across Texas.
Generosity took center stage
One of the most inspiring parts of the meeting came through the reports of giving and service. The Arabian Knights shared a strong presentation on their recent barbecue cookoff, and the results were remarkable.
The Arabian Knights raised an incredible $29,000 for Shriners Children’s Texas through their barbecue cookoff.
That total represents far more than a successful event. It reflects hours of planning, cooking, serving, hosting, and showing up. It reflects families, friends, and supporters choosing to gather around a good cause. Most of all, it reflects a shared commitment to helping children receive care.
The meeting also recognized hospital donations from the Montgomery County Shrine Club and the American Legion in Willis. These gifts add to the ongoing work that Shrine members and community partners carry forward year after year.
Among those contributions were kickoff funds toward the 2027 Willis Chili Cookoff, giving that future event an early start with a clear purpose. Events like these matter because they create more than one day of support. They build momentum. They keep the mission visible. They invite more people to take part.
This is where generosity becomes practical. It turns a meal, a cookoff, or a club gathering into something that reaches beyond the room. It helps support children and families through Shriners Children’s Texas, and it reminds every member that service is strongest when many people carry it together.

A defining decision for Arabia’s future
The most significant moment of the evening came after updates from the Building Committee. Members considered the motion introduced at September’s stated meeting to sell Arabia’s current location.
That motion passed.
For any organization with a long history, a decision like this carries emotion. A building is more than walls, rooms, and a roof. It holds memories. It holds celebrations, meetings, meals, laughter, solemn moments, and milestones that members carry with them for life.
Arabia’s current home has been part of that story. It has served as a gathering place for fellowship, charity, and brotherhood. Many members have walked into that building for stated meetings, Shrine events, family gatherings, and moments that became part of their personal history.
That is why this decision matters. It does not erase the past. It honors the past by making room for what comes next.
The vote to sell the current location marks a turning point. It gives Arabia the opportunity to think carefully and boldly about a new home that can serve the fraternity, the philanthropy, and the next generation of members.
A future home is not only about space. It is about how that space can help Arabia gather, serve, welcome, and grow. It is about creating a place where meetings can continue with purpose, where events can bring people together, and where the mission can stay close to the heart of every activity.
Carrying the legacy forward
Change can be hard, especially when it touches a place filled with memories. Yet Arabia has never been defined by a building alone.
Arabia is defined by its people.
It is defined by the members who attend meetings, cook at fundraisers, welcome guests, serve on committees, and support hospital efforts. It is defined by those who quietly give their time and those who proudly lead major events. It is defined by partners and friends who stand beside the Shrine in support of children and families.
That spirit was clear throughout the stated meeting. The evening moved from hospitality to gratitude, from charitable success to major business, and from remembrance to anticipation.
Arabia Shriners Embrace a New Chapter with Generosity and Fellowship is more than a headline. It is a fitting description of the moment. The organization celebrated what its members and supporters have done, then looked ahead to what they can build together.
The path forward will take patience, planning, and continued unity. There will be details to work through and decisions to make. But the foundation is already in place: fellowship, generosity, purpose, and trust in one another.
Moving forward together
Last night’s stated meeting showed Arabia at its best. Amani Court No. 72 offered hospitality. Distinguished guests joined in fellowship. The Arabian Knights reported an outstanding charitable result. The Montgomery County Shrine Club and the American Legion in Willis helped continue support for hospital giving. Members made a historic decision about Arabia’s current location and future home.
That is a full evening by any measure.
The memories inside Arabia’s current home will remain part of the organization’s story. They will travel with the members who made them. They will shape the conversations, hopes, and plans that guide the next chapter.
Now the work continues.
Arabia’s strength is its people, its purpose, and its commitment to one another. With gratitude for what has been and anticipation for what lies ahead, Arabia can move forward together with confidence.
