A pumpkin patch feels even better when every visit carries a little extra meaning. This fall, Arabia Shriners is honored to support Pumpkins for Patients at Shriners Children’s Texas, a seasonal gathering built around fellowship, family fun, and the children and families at the heart of the Shriners mission.

On October 24 and 25, the community is invited to come out to 815 Market Street in Galveston from 10 AM to 5 PM for pumpkins, food vendors, and fall fellowship. Admission is free, the setting is welcoming, and the purpose is clear.

Pick a pumpkin. Support a patient. Make a difference.

A fall festival with heart

Fall events often bring people together through simple joys. A good pumpkin. A shared meal. A friendly conversation. A reason to slow down and enjoy the season.

Pumpkins for Patients adds purpose to that familiar fall feeling.

At Shriners Children’s Texas, patients and families are at the center of the mission every day. Events like this help turn community support into something people can see and feel. A pumpkin becomes more than a decoration. It becomes a small act of care. A visit with friends becomes a show of support. A few hours at a fall festival becomes part of a larger spirit of service.

That is why Arabia Shriners is proud to be well represented at this year’s event. Nobles, Ladies, and volunteers are showing up with the same spirit that guides so much of the organization’s work: fellowship, generosity, and service to children and families.

What to expect at the event

The Pumpkins for Patients Fall Festival at Shriners Children’s Texas is designed to be easy to enjoy. Come for the pumpkins, stay for the fellowship, and make time to visit the food vendors while you are there.

Arabia Shriners brings fellowship and service together

Arabia Shriners has long understood that fellowship and service go hand in hand. Members show up for one another, but they also show up for something bigger than themselves.

That spirit matters at events like this.

A festival can look simple from the outside. Pumpkins are arranged. Vendors prepare food. Volunteers greet guests. People take photos and talk with friends. Yet behind the scenes, real effort makes the day possible. Someone gave time. Someone hauled supplies. Someone helped spread the word. Someone welcomed a family as they arrived.

Those moments add up.

Arabia’s Nobles, Ladies, and volunteers deserve thanks for helping carry that spirit into the community. Their presence at Pumpkins for Patients reflects pride in the mission and care for the families served by Shriners Children’s Texas.

It also reminds everyone that support does not always have to be formal or complicated. Sometimes support looks like showing up on a fall afternoon. Sometimes it sounds like laughter over lunch. Sometimes it is as simple as helping a child choose a pumpkin.

Why community events like this matter

A hospital can feel overwhelming for families, even when care is compassionate and supportive. Seasonal events create moments of warmth around that experience. They give families a chance to enjoy something familiar, cheerful, and grounded in community.

A pumpkin patch may seem small, but small comforts matter.

For children, it can mean a bright seasonal memory. For parents and caregivers, it can mean feeling seen and supported. For volunteers, it can mean living out a commitment in a hands-on way. For the broader community, it can mean connecting with the mission in a direct and joyful setting.

That is the strength of Pumpkins for Patients. It brings people together without making the day feel heavy. The purpose is present, but so is the fun.

Expect a welcoming atmosphere where visitors can:

  • Choose a pumpkin for the season

  • Enjoy food from local vendors

  • Spend time with friends and family

  • Meet volunteers and supporters

  • Take part in a community event with a meaningful purpose

Free admission also makes the event easy to share. Invite a neighbor. Ask a friend to join. Bring someone who loves fall festivals, supports children’s causes, or simply wants to spend a good day in Galveston.

As the saying goes, bring a friend and get in where you fit in.

A simple way to make a difference

The best community gatherings leave people with more than a full afternoon. They leave people with a sense that they were part of something good.

That is the invitation behind Pumpkins for Patients.

No grand gesture is required. Come by on October 24 or 25 between 10 AM and 5 PM. Visit Shriners Children’s Texas at 815 Market Street in Galveston. Pick out a pumpkin. Grab something to eat. Thank a volunteer. Spend time with people who believe in showing up for children and families.

Arabia Shriners is honored to support this event and grateful for every Noble, Lady, and volunteer who helps share the spirit of Arabia. Their service reflects what this season can be at its best: warm, generous, and full of purpose.
